To start this review, this year’s model (2020) is not looking much different from last year’s model (2019). It is a good thing because both are solidly built.
Acer Predator lines are known to be well built. Spend less for the 2019 Helios if you can’t get this new Triton.
For the specs configuration, this laptop has the Intel i7-10750H (10th generation), 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, RTX 2070 Super GPU, and 300Hz 15.6″ display.
What we can’t miss

GPU & Dual-Channel RAM
This Acer Predator Triton 500 RTX 2070 Super laptop has many selling points. First is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super. This GPU has more power than the RTX 2060 that most gaming laptops at this price range do have. The Graphics card is a very important element in a gaming laptop.
The second selling point is the 16GB of RAM. This is needed if you don’t want to open your laptop to upgrade. This PT515-52-73L3 comes with 16GB DDR4 RAM with a decent speed at 2933MHz.
This dual-channel 16GB of memory is more than sufficient for most gamers, considering some gaming laptops come only with 8GB RAM.
CPU Update And a Top-Tier Screen
The 10th generation of i7 is also a nice upgrade from the previous generation, so it improves the performance of this machine. See the benchmark below.
The i7-10750H has 12MB L3 Cache that is larger than most laptops’ CPU at this price that usually has only 8MB. For the Memory size, this processor supports up to 128GB memory size, whereas most CPUs only can support up to 64GB. Most importantly, the Turbo Boost Frequency of this processor can reach up to 5.0 GHz, which is higher than other processors. Due to these advantages, this i7 CPU is known as one of the top-of-the-line processors for high-end laptops.
Furthermore, this PT515-52 has the 300Hz display. It is a top-tier laptop’s screen, with no ghosting or blurring when used to game. This screen alone worth hundreds of bucks.
Having a 300Hz screen refresh rate is nice if you like to play games like CS: Go. If you are a content creator, the color accuracy, and the color gamut are better compared with 240Hz or 144Hz screens. This has 100% sRGB and 344 nits!

A full per-key RGB keyboard
Another obvious update is the new per-key RGB keyboard. This said you can change the lighting key to any color you want with each key. Other than the lighting update, the keyboard remains the same, in terms of functionality. It’s a full-size keyboard, very nice to type on or to game, thanks to the 1.7mm travel distance of the keys.
Once you press the PredatorSense key, you will be able to see the system overview of your gaming laptop. There are fans control, GPU overclocking, and many more settings.
Can PT515-52-73L3 satisfy us?
Absolutely, this device is a solid gaming laptop. Its predecessor (2019 model) was one of the best seller gaming notebooks. Acer has even made a lot of improvements with the 2020 model. They improve the cooling system so that it runs cooler than the previous model. Also, they add a much better screen and per-key RGB keyboard’s lighting.
