PH315-53-71HN Design
Design-wise, it comes with the same design as the predecessor. It has an anodized matte black Aluminum lid. And there are also two blue stripes, as well as a blue-ish logo that can light up on the cover. It does not have some crazy gamers attributes, which we appreciate.
On the back of the laptop, Acer added silver fins on the left and right-hand side. Same with its predecessor, you will locate the placement of the power connector on the backside of the laptop as well.

Thin Bezel 144Hz 300 Nits 15.6″ Screen
Helios 300 PH315-53-71HN unit packs a 144 Hz 15.6″ IPS panel with 3ms response time, and 1920 x 1080 Full-HD screen resolution.
Furthermore, the panel has 300 nits brightness, which is a great brightness level for your gaming and daily computing tasks.
This 144Hz panel combined with the capable GPU, and CPU will result in remarkable smoother gameplay. In the video below you will see the difference in the Graphic’s smoothness on a 144Hz, 120Hz, and 60Hz screen.
Screens that have higher refresh rates can deliver smoother graphics than those that have lower refresh rates. Furthermore, the panel on this PH315-53-71HN gaming laptop also has a 3ms screen response time. This is very helpful if you often play competitive and action games because each millisecond does count.
The slim bezel also helps you to have more real estate on your screen, and there is also a 720HD webcam on the top bezel which works nicely for video chat or Zoom, and other online meetings. Should you look for a bigger screen, we recommend this unit, it has a 17-inch panel.
Hexa-Core i7-10750H CPU
Moving forward to the performance, the PH315-53-71HN features the 10th Gen of Intel i7 chip, the i7-10750H.

This CPU is noticeably an improvement from the previous generation, the 9th Gen. This chip is also comparable to the Ryzen 5 4600HS, and surprisingly outperforms it.
Moreover, the i7-10750H CPU has a 2.60 GHz base clock speed and is capable to perform at a max of 5.0 GHz (on Max Turbo boost clock, vs 4.0 GHz for the Ryzen 5 4600HS). So the processor can perform well as expected.
As for the heat, you can play WoW with its ultra settings at 100FPS with the temperature increase at the 90s occasionally. Thanks to the two metal cooling fans under the hood to avoid the GPU and CPU temperature spiking further.
RTX 3060 For More Cinematic Games
In the next years, there will be more and more new games that demand more of your computer’s graphics. The cinematic games will be released more in the future, and for them, your older Graphic cards will have difficulties keeping up.
Thanks for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 GPU that this PH315-53-71HN laptop has. The 80W RTX 3060 GPU powers the PH315-53-71HN Acer Predator Helios 300 to be capable to play the latest AAA titles like Cyberpunk 2077 with the RTX and DLSS on.
The level of performance of this GPU outperforms the RTX 2060.

Furthermore, with the benefit of having the 6GB GDDR6 Graphics memory is, you will be able to play any games with the 2560×1440 screen resolution.
A Total of 16GB RAM & 512GB SSD Storage
The Predator PH315-53-71HN comes with a total of 16GB of DDR4 RAM (2x 8GB memory sticks) which runs at 2933MHz. So without opening up your laptop to do an upgrade, the 16GB of RAM is ready for both your professional work and also to play demanding games.

As for the storage, it features a decent 512GB of SSD storage instead of 256GB. Because your laptop has Solid State Drive to store your Operating System files, the laptop performs swiftly. Moreover, Acer includes a connector cable, and other kits if you want to add your hard drive if needed. There is a total of 3x storage slots, 2x SSD slots, and 1x HDD slot under the hood. The 500GB pre-installed SSD is located on one of the SSD slots. With these slots for storage, this laptop gives you a lot of opportunities for an upgrade.
Not a Perfect Keyboard
When it comes to its keyboard, I would say, it is not the perfect keyboard in the world, but it is a decent one. It is a 4-Zone RGB backlit illuminated keyboard, which you can disable or adjust with the PredatorSense app on your computer. If you fancy a per-key RGB backlit keyboard, check out the Triton 300, it has one but costs more.

For the price point, the keyboard deck is very well built, Acer made it with Aluminum which gives techy and nice-looking touch.
There is a number pad on the right side, and overall, the keys have above the average key travel, so they feel good to type on.
Above the keyboard, you can locate the Turbo button and the vents, which can help your laptop to dissipate the heat. You can tell that Acer designed this PH315-53-71HN notebook to have good thermals management.
The touchpad is pretty good, it has a soft texture yet feels sturdy and quite responsive. It also supports Windows precision, no complain here. Then again, I prefer using an external mouse to game.
Battery Life, and Fans
When we talk about the battery life of a gaming laptop, I know that this is not an office laptop. I would not expect it to give more than 8 hours of battery life. So yeah, for basic usages, like writing documents, or reading, you can get 4-5 hours. But for more performance demanding activity, it lasts about 2 hours, this is a gaming laptop, folks.
During gaming, the fans often kick in due to the heavy performance you need. So it can get a little noisy, but it is expected since it is not a buttercup laptop.

This machine is capable to deliver heavy graphics and overall performance.
Does it offer great value?
For the price definitely. If you research the gaming laptops category, this machine is a good choice if you want the 10th Gen Intel processor and the RTX 3000 series. A similar notebook with a less powerful GPU (RTX 2060), for example, has a current price of a few hundred bucks more than this one. Price can change unexpectedly, and that is the price when we write this PH315-53-71HN review.
This Acer Predator Helios 300 with the RTX 3060 has many features that everyone expects this year. The gorgeous 144Hz screen rather than 120Hz, i7-10750H chip, dedicated RTX 3000 GPU series rather than 2000 series, Ethernet and USB-C ports, and a lot more.
in stock - high demand
Overall a lot of this goes without saying, the Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-53-71HN 15.6″ gaming laptop is the most worth at its price.
