It has aluminum chassis, real aluminum material. Unlike most of the these-days laptops that are made from plastic but constructed to look as if they were made from aluminum.
Designed to be one of the most secure compact laptops in the world, it has a very slim profile. Yet it still has the FaceTime 720p webcam, Touch ID, and all of those premium looks in the outside.

The well-known Retina True-Tone display remains the same, which a 13.3″ high-resolution LED IPS panel.
The display also has the native 2560×1600 resolution at 227 PPI (Pixels Per Inch) and 16:10 aspect ratio. It is not a touchscreen laptop. Furthermore, to this day, it’s not easy to find a laptop that has this impressive ratio.

In this 2020 MacBook Air review, we are going to review the space gray MBA model.
What’s new in this MacBook Air 2020 MWTJ2LL/A version?
For more affordable selling price, they improve on many features with this new lines of 2020 MacBook Air. Compared to its predecessors, the improvements are on the newer processors, the remarkable Magic Keyboard, and more choices for storage configuration.
The Intel i3-1000NG4 Processor
First off, Apple added the i3 10 generation CPU line to the entry-level of the MBA family, which is the i3-1000NG4.
The exact model which is MWTJ2LL/A we are reviewing now.
Apple usually offered an entry-level MBA with an i5 processor.
However, this year, they added the i3 processor into the CPU configuration, which makes the starting price tag lower as well.
The previous models were usually sold above 1K, now they offer the 13 models with the cost of $999 (and now, I just checked on Amazon, it is even sold for $949) basically under 1k.
Despite the lower price, Apple doubles the storage of the starting entry of the 2020 MBA. In the past, the entry-level had only 128GB, this year, they double the storage to 256GB SSD, which is a BIG bonus!
The Magic Keyboard
One of the best updates in this 2020 MacBook Air is, without a doubt, the “backlit” Magic Keyboard with a scissor keyboard system. This system features 1mm of travel to enhance the responsiveness of the keys, and enable users to type more quiet and comfortable.
This keyboard system isn’t really new in Apple’s world. The Magic Keyboard is the improved version of the scissor keyboard that already came with the 2015 MacBook Pro version. They also included it into the latest 16-inch MBP line.
There are also the easily-located inverted-T arrow keys, that will help users tremendously to code, work with spreadsheets and navigate your object while doing light gaming.
The trackpad on the MWTJ2LL/A is 20% larger than the other laptop’s trackpad. It’s the Force Touch trackpad, which was designed to be different than the traditional trackpads. It’s large, smooth and very responsive. You can use it to sketch or even write your signature like what you can with a stylus pen. In the trackpad settings, you can always disable the Force Click settings.
In short, this MBA 2020 scissor based-keyboard and the trackpad are the best features you can have on a very portable laptop.
The 2020 New Apple MacBook Air GPU
The third best update is the Graphics, which is the new Intel’s Iris Plus. This graphic is integrated with the CPU and is an improvement of the predecessor’s Graphics, the UHD Graphics.
By featuring the Intel Iris Plus Graphics, your MacBook Air will be capable to support the Apple’s Pro Retina 6K Display XDR (Extreme High Definition) which is even superior to the HDR resolution devices. It supports Apple’s Display pro with up to 60Hz at 6016×3384 resolution.
There are many other improvements that the new 2020 Intel i3-1000NG4 brings to this MBA. The improvement of its AI hardware acceleration, faster memory speed, WiFi 6, and the Thunderbolt which is partially integrated within the processor.
Bluetooth version 5 also comes with this 2020 MacBook Air the MWTJ2LL/A model. This said you will have twice the speed of Bluetooth version 4 (2Mbs vs 1Mbs). The other connectivity options are also remaining the same. There are 2x Thunderbolt ports, a 3.mm headphone jack, and the 802.11ac Wi-Fi for the network.
What is the drawback of the 2020 MacBook Air MWTJ2LL?
Even though it comes with many improvements with the hardware and features, this 2020 Apple MacBook Air comes with an hour reduced battery life. The 2019 model has up to 12 hours of battery life, this one has up to 11 hours.
It also weighs 0.04kg or 0.088 pounds more than its predecessors. It is insignificant numbers, however, we need to mention in this MWTJ2LL/A review.
Same as its predecessors, the memory and storage is NOT upgradeable. So if you think you will need more storage and memory down the road, you will want to choose the bigger configuration of the RAM and SSD’s capacity before you make a purchase.
The MWTJ2LL/A new improvement clearly and greatly outweighs its drawbacks, so this device is really a premium product that you cannot miss.
For Windows Users
If you are currently a Windows PCs users and want to try Mac OS, the MBA is the perfect device. It is lightweight, portable, and fast. The retina display alone is worth trying.
Great color, crisp quality for watching movies, or viewing pictures. The keyboard will be the best stable keyboard you will ever have, and the trackpad is large, and has a fast response. We can say, it will be your best purchase.
For existing Mac Users
